A Complete Fitout for a Brand New Store
We carry out work for Crew Clothing Company across the country, often refurbishing their existing High Street stores or carrying out maintenance to keep their premises looking as good as new. Last month we completed a fitout to create a brand new store within the Affinity Outlet Centre in Devon.
First it was necessary to remove and dispose of the existing columns, metal racking display system, skirting boards, mid floor joinery and high level woodwork.
We had to uplift and dispose of the existing floor covering and ensure that the sub floor was ready to receive latex self levelling compound. We also had to chase the floor for electric and data to the cashdesk, fit conduits with draw cables and secure in position with cement.
Once the flooring was ready, we had to supply and fit skirting boards around the full perimeter of the shop including the fitting rooms. Working alongside Assured Fire & Security to co-ordinate sprinkler positioning, we marked out and build stud walls and ceilings for the three fitting rooms. This meant lining the walls first with OSB before finishing with tapered edge plasterboard. We supplied and installed fitting room curtain poles, curtains, fitting room hooks, and picture frames, together with DDA rails, and a seat to one of the fitting rooms.
Where fixtures, fittings and architrave had been removed, we had to make good the walls, woodwork and door frames into back of house, as well as installing shopfloor mirrors. This included, tape and joint to all seams of walls, ceilings and rear wall with 2/3 coats of joint filler and sand to a smooth finish ready to decorate. Thin coat angle beads and stop beads were installed to all external edges and corners.
We supplied and installed sprayed MDF panels to clad the face and end of the existing cash desk, and supplied and installed the cashdesk surface. We also supplied and installed the white carcass’ doors, end panels, kick board and surface for the back unit.
Once everything had been made good, we decorated the woodwork and walls throughout the store, fitting rooms and rear wall as well as replacing lamps where necessary.
A completely new store, with the client’s own look and feel, creating an attractive space for customers.
